Honor is expected to unveil the Honor Magic 8 series of smartphones in October. Recent teasers released by the brand suggest that the Magic 8 Pro will come equipped with a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera like the Vivo X300 Pro and the Oppo Find X9 Pro. However, while the Vivo and Oppo offerings will have the Dimensity 9500 onboard, the Magic 8 Pro will set itself apart by featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Today, the tipster shared the key details about the Magic 8 Pro.

The tipster claims that the Honor Magic 8 Pro will be the only Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-powered flagship to feature both 3D ToF face recognition and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner like the Magic 7 Pro from last year. In terms of cameras, the device is said to feature a 50-megapixel 1/1.3-inch main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with a large 1/1.4-inch sensor, wide aperture, and an 85mm focal length (to be determined).

He added that the Magic 8 Pro is also expected to pack a battery with a capacity starting in the 7,000mAh range. The device, which reportedly bears the BKQ-AN00 / AN80 model number, was recently spotted with a 90W fast charger in the database of China’s 3C certification platform.

Reports suggest that the Magic 8 Pro will feature a 6.7-inch flat OLED panel, whereas the Magic 8, expected to launch alongside, will have a slightly smaller 6.58-inch flat OLED screen.

Apart from these two devices, the lineup is also expected to include the Magic 8 Mini and Magic 8 Ultra. The former is said to feature a 6.3-inch screen and a Dimensity 9500, whereas the latter could be a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-powered ultimate camera flagship featuring a 50-megapixel 1/0.98-inch OV LOFIC sensor, an ultra-wide camera, and a 200-megapixel Samsung HP9 periscope lens capable of 4.3x to 7x optical zoom. The Mini and Ultra editions are expected to launch in the first half of 2025 in China.
